Book Free ConsultNo. Unlike traditional tattooing, SMP uses specialised needles and pigments designed to mimic the exact size and shape of a hair follicle. It is a layered approach for 3D realism — most people genuinely cannot tell the difference from a real shaved head.
Most clients rate the discomfort as 2 to 3 out of 10 — much less painful than a traditional tattoo because we only deposit pigment into the upper dermis. Many clients find the process relaxing once they settle in at our Brisbane studio.
SMP is a semi-permanent treatment. Results typically last 4 to 6 years before a quick touch-up session is needed. UV exposure in Brisbane's climate can affect longevity — we recommend SPF 50+ on the scalp.
